Arjun Bijlani, one of Indian television’s most loved faces, started 2026 with heartbreak instead of celebration. The actor, known for his calm nature and strong family values, immediately cut short his New Year vacation in Dubai after a sudden family emergency shook his world.
What was meant to be a joyful holiday turned into an emotional race against time.
A Sudden Medical Crisis That Changed Everything
Arjun was vacationing with his wife Neha Swami and family when he received devastating news on December 31, 2025. Neha’s father, Rakesh Chandra Swami, suffered a sudden stroke while having dinner in Mumbai.
Just two days earlier, on December 29, he was reportedly healthy. The sudden collapse left the family shocked. He was immediately admitted to the ICU at Bellevue Hospital, Mumbai, and placed on life support.
Without hesitation, Arjun dropped everything and flew back to Mumbai — proving once again that family comes before fame.
A Heartbreaking New Year for the Bijlani Family
Sadly, Rakesh Chandra Swami passed away on January 1, 2026, turning the New Year into a moment of deep sorrow for the family.
The last rites were performed the same day. In visuals that deeply moved fans, Arjun Bijlani was seen giving “kandha” during the antim yatra — a gesture that spoke louder than words about his bond with his family.
Emotional moments from the funeral showed the actor breaking down while consoling Neha and holding his young son close, reflecting the raw pain behind the public smile.
Work Takes a Backseat Amid Personal Loss
On the professional front, Arjun recently hosted Laughter Chef 3, stepping in during Bharti Singh’s maternity break. He also won the cash prize on the web show Rise and Fall, hosted by Ashnoor Kaur.
Earlier in 2025, he had firmly dismissed rumors about divorce and Bigg Boss 19 participation. As of now, no new projects have been announced, as the actor focuses on supporting his family during this difficult time.
Industry and Fans Stand United in Support
TV industry friends, including Nia Sharma, expressed heartfelt condolences. Fans flooded social media with prayers and messages, praising Arjun for his grounded nature and emotional strength.
Known for iconic roles in Naagin 2 and Ishq Mein Marjawan, Arjun Bijlani once again reminded everyone that behind the stardom lies a man who stands strong for his loved ones — even in the darkest moments.
