Bihar Bhumi Mega Drive: A New Era for Land Reforms in Bihar

Bihar Bhumi is transforming how land records are managed in the state. Led by the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, this initiative focuses on digitizing land records, solving long-pending disputes, and making services faster and transparent. With land issues rising due to paperwork delays and land mafias, the government has taken a mission-mode approach.

Mega Campaign Until January 14, 2026

Under “Bhumi Sudhar Jan Kalyan Samvad,” the Bihar government has launched mega land camps across villages and panchayats. These camps run six days a week from 9 AM to 9 PM, allowing people to resolve land issues without repeated office visits.

Services include:

  • Mutation (Dakhil-Kharij)

  • Name correction (Parimarjan Plus)

  • Boundary disputes

  • Old and legacy land cases

Officials verify documents such as sale deeds, Aadhaar cards, land receipts, and heirship proofs on the spot. This has saved rural citizens time, money, and stress.

Deputy CM’s Strict Monitoring

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha has pushed departments to work faster and cleaner. Daily application processing has jumped from 11,000 to 27,000, and land measurement timelines have improved.

To stop fraud, strict action has been ordered against fake documents, including FIRs under criminal laws. Mandatory proformas for e-measurements now ensure transparency and reduce disputes.

Statewide Verification Drive

Between January 18 and 21, 2026, teams of 15 officials will conduct intensive jamabandi verification across Bihar. This move aims to end manipulation of land records from homes and private offices.

Farmer ID creation deadlines have also been extended to January 9, ensuring records match real ownership.

Land Services Fully Online

Today, 10 major land services — including inheritance transfers and land partitions — are fully online through the Bihar Bhumi portal. Offline entries are banned, pushing Bihar closer to a modern and corruption-free land system.

These reforms are designed to empower farmers, reduce court cases, and bring land justice closer to people. Citizens are strongly advised to attend the mega camps before the deadline and secure their land records once and for all.
