JEE Main 2026 Result Delay: What Happened?

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially delayed the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 results.
Earlier expected on or before February 12, 2026, the revised release date is now set for
by February 16, 2026.

The delay was confirmed through NTA’s official social media updates. One major reason behind the postponement
is the non-release of the final answer key, which has increased anxiety among students across platforms.

More than 13.5 lakh candidates who appeared in the January session are currently waiting for their scorecards.

Where & How to Check JEE Main Result

Once released, candidates can check their JEE Main 2026 results using their
application number and password on the official websites:

The scorecard will include subject-wise percentiles in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics,
along with the overall NTA Score.

Expected JEE Advanced 2026 Cutoffs (Category-wise)

Based on previous years’ trends, the expected qualifying cutoffs for JEE Advanced 2026 are:

Category Expected Percentile Range
General 93 – 95
EWS 80 – 82
OBC-NCL 79 – 81
SC 61 – 63
ST 47 – 50
UR-PwD 0.001 – 0.02

Only the top 2.5 lakh candidates across both sessions will qualify for
JEE Advanced 2026, scheduled on May 17, 2026.

Top Scorers: Early Buzz

Unofficial calculations based on provisional answer keys suggest that
Arnav Gautam and P Mohith may emerge as perfect scorers (300/300).

However, final confirmation will only come after NTA releases the official percentiles
and rank list.

What Should Candidates Do Now?

  • Keep checking jeemain.nta.nic.in for live updates
  • Avoid rumors circulating on social media
  • Use college predictors after result declaration
  • Start early preparation for JoSAA counseling
  • Stay calm — no further exams are scheduled before results

The delay is largely due to the complexity of evaluating 13+ lakh answer sheets,
and experts advise students to stay patient and focused.
