“Fear the Laughs. Feel the Festive Fire.”
Prabhas is all set to light up the big screen once again as The Raja Saab, his much-awaited horror-comedy, gears up for a grand worldwide release on January 9, 2026. Directed by Maruthi, the film blends horror, fantasy, action, and comedy, promising a full-on theatrical experience just in time for the Sankranti festival. Paid premieres kick off on January 8, sending fan excitement into overdrive.

Mounted on a staggering ₹400 crore budget, The Raja Saab stands tall among India’s biggest cinematic ventures. The pan-India entertainer will release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, with Prabhas reportedly playing dual roles. The star-studded cast includes Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Boman Irani, adding weight to the spectacle.

Advance Bookings Signal a Strong Start

Overseas advance bookings are already creating waves. The film has crossed $1.70 million in early sales and is expected to touch $2 million before release. North America alone has contributed more than $1 million, reflecting Prabhas’ massive global fan base. In Indian currency, US collections have already crossed ₹6.42 crore gross ahead of release.

To match the hype, the Andhra Pradesh government has approved temporary ticket price hikes. Premiere show tickets on January 8 are capped at ₹1,000, while regular single-screen tickets rise to ₹297. Multiplex prices have also been increased for a limited time, boosting opening-day revenue potential.

Delays, Dedication & a Massive Climax

The film’s journey wasn’t smooth. Production faced delays due to a Telugu film workers’ strike and extensive post-production work. Notably, the film’s 40-minute climax reportedly took 120 days to complete, hinting at its grand scale. Initially planned for April and later December 2025, the final Sankranti release window positions the film perfectly for festive footfalls.

Trailers were screened in 105 theaters across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, triggering fan celebrations, cutouts, and fireworks—classic Prabhas mania.

Controversies Fade, Hype Remains

Earlier concerns regarding unpaid wages and a legal dispute with Ivy Entertainment have taken a back seat as excitement peaks. Producer People Media Factory calls The Raja Saab India’s most ambitious horror-fantasy film, while director Maruthi promises Disney-style visuals with Hollywood-level scale.

With expectations sky-high after Kalki 2898 AD, The Raja Saab now stands at a crucial moment in Prabhas’ career—ready to scare, entertain, and dominate the box office.
