2026 Tata Punch Facelift: Small SUV, Big Power Upgrade

Tata Punch

“Still the Toughest Micro-SUV — Now Faster, Smarter, and Bolder.”

Tata Motors has officially launched the 2026 Tata Punch facelift, giving its bestselling micro-SUV its first major upgrade since 2021. Launched on January 13, 2026, the new Punch is priced from ₹5.59 lakh to ₹10.54 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and brings a stronger engine lineup, refreshed design, and more premium features — while continuing its 5-star Bharat NCAP safety legacy.

Bold New Design That Stands Out

The 2026 Punch looks sharper and more SUV-like than before. At the front, it gets vertical LED headlamps, sleek DRLs connected by a slim black grille, and a muscular bumper with a silver skid plate. The side profile is updated with new 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and ORVMs integrated with a 360-degree camera.

At the rear, connected LED taillamps and a revised skid plate add a modern touch. Tata has also introduced striking new colors like Cyantific Blue, Coorg Clouds, Bengal Rouge, and Caramel, along with dual-tone options, enhancing its bold road presence.

Interior Gets Smarter and More Premium

Inside, the cabin feels more modern with a new two-spoke steering wheel featuring an illuminated Tata logo, redesigned AC vents, and touch-based climate controls. The familiar 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay continues, paired with a 7-inch digital driver display.

Features like wireless charging, cruise control, single-pane sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM, and upgraded connected tech improve everyday comfort. Seats now offer better under-thigh support, though the rear centre headrest is still missing.

Biggest Highlight: Powerful Turbo Engine

The biggest upgrade comes under the hood. Alongside the existing 1.2-litre NA petrol and CNG options, Tata has added a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine from the Nexon. Producing 120PS and 170Nm, it makes the Punch the most powerful micro-SUV in its segment, beating rivals like the Hyundai Exter and Citroën C3.

Transmission options include manual, AMT, and a 6-speed manual for the turbo variant.

Safety, Pricing & Verdict

Safety remains a strong point with six airbags, ESP, iTPMS, 3-point seatbelts for all passengers, and a 360-degree camera as standard across variants. Prices start at ₹5.59 lakh for petrol, with CNG variants from ₹6.69 lakh.

With over 6 lakh sales achieved faster than any Indian SUV, the 2026 Tata Punch facelift strengthens Tata’s dominance in the micro-SUV space.
